CleanPlate Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
CleanPlate is a restaurant health inspection app. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Data We Collect
- Anonymous device identifier — A non-reversible device ID (Android ID or a randomly generated UUID stored in the iOS Keychain) used solely to track your free trial and scan usage. It cannot be linked to your name, email, or any personal information.
- Purchase information — Managed entirely by RevenueCat. We receive only whether a purchase is active, not payment details.
- Photos you scan — Images sent to our server are processed immediately to extract a restaurant name and are never stored.
Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your name, email address, location history, contacts, or any personally identifiable information.
Third-Party Services
- RevenueCat — Manages in-app purchases. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — Hosts our API and processes images using Amazon Bedrock (Claude AI). Images are not retained after processing.
- Open government data — Restaurant inspection records from NYC, San Francisco, and King County open data portals.
Data Retention
Trial and scan usage records (keyed to your anonymous device ID) are automatically deleted after 365 days.
Children's Privacy
CleanPlate is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
